The Fricker Cup

First Came the Legend… 
Then Came the Tradition…

Each year the Fricker Cup brings Kappa Sigs together in a great weekend including a golf tournament that would make Eddie Fricker proud! At stake is immortality with your name engraved on the Fricker Cup trophy and the ability to touch the trophy with your bare hands while avoiding the Curse of Fricker that will plague any non-winner that touches the trophy!

Started in the summer of 2014, The Fricker Cup Tournament is hosted in different cities to promote greater participation and involvement by all our alumni and promote the philanthropic/Chapter development cause incorporated into each year's tournament. The tournament is scheduled for the first Saturday after Labor Day for all years except when KSTUAA has organized a 5 year reunion event.

Fricker Cup weekends are planned and organized by the KSTUAA event committee and the Fricker Cup Rules Committee.

2026 Fricker Cup details:

The Fricker Cup returns to Cleveland the first weekend after Labor Day after a decade's absence. Registration is 3 easy steps (registration, payment & hotel)

Fun Fact: It was the the 2016 Fricker Cup when the beloved and despised Eddie Fricker Switcheroo Card was introduced. The inaugural use was by Brother Scott Hamilton trading his first drive (a shank to the left of the tee) with a beautiful drive from Brother Dave Ledman. Despite the setback, Brother Ledman went on to win the tournament with partner Rick Sippola.

Prizes:  Closest to Pin x2, Long Drive, and a Hit the Green for a Split the Pot cash prize. Scores will be kept via the GolfGenius app AND Immortality with your name engraved on the highly coveted Fricker Cup! (Bonus: Immunity from the curse of Fricker)

Fricker Cup Hotel Room Block 

A block of rooms at the Embassy Suites Independence has been reserved. Free Wifi, Free in/out parking, Free breakfast buffet, Lobby bar (with tables for Euchre), Fitness center (yeah right!) and indoor pool (Gordo, you must wear a swim suit this year!)

The negotiated rate is $155 a night for a King Room/$145 for a room with 2 Double beds  (rates only apply to Friday and Saturday nights, so if you need additional nights earlier or later, the rates will be different) ** Reminder, the hotel cost is not included in the Fricker Cup registration cost. You must do each separately.
