Chapter Advisory Council

A Standing Committee of KSTUAA

KSTUAA Board in its annual meeting in June 2019 moved to… “create a new standing committee called the Chapter Advisory Council and replacing the Restart Committee for the purpose of involving our alumni members to advise and mentor the Theta-Upsilon Chapter undergraduates and colony members, to promote and expand a proud legacy at Miami and to work with other stakeholders like the Kappa Sigma Fraternity Advisors, University and the Housing Company to promote a quality experience for our undergraduate brothers.”

Said another way, The Chapter Advisory Council will act like a "Board of Trustees" to promote a quality experience for our undergraduate brothers/members of the Theta-Upsilon Chapter and to promote and expand a proud legacy at Miami in keeping with Stephen A. Jackson's dream of making the "Star and Crescent the pride of every college and university in the land!"

The CAC priorities are:
  1. Provide leadership continuity (planning, engagement & oversight) to ensure a Quality Experience, Member Development & Longevity of Legacy.
  2. Minimize Risks (Safety and Chapter Operations)
  3. Promote transition from member to active, life-long alumni
The CAC developed and supports the Alumni Docent Program (a Professional Mentoring Program), updated Pledge Guide information about the Chapter's history including updating the signature tradition and has promoted fundraising and purchases of signage and furniture within the Chapter House. The CAC also hosts a Senior event in the spring promoting life-long Kappa Sigma involvement and an alumnus member.

The CAC meets via conference call and in person during the Miami Homecoming Weekend.
