KSTUAA respects the membership status of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Initiated Members that have resigned or have been expelled are not permitted to participate in KSTUAA events (Fricker Cup, Homecoming, Reunions etc.)
Former members are encouraged to seek reinstatement to become Alumni in Good Standing. KSTUAA will assist with this process. Article V, Section 7 of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity Constitution is the governing provision. Reinstatement requires action by the Supreme Executive Committee in all cases. The specific requirements vary by circumstance:
Resigned or Expelled members — A four-fifths (80%) vote of the Supreme Executive Committee is required. The member must also submit a reinstatement fee (amount determined by the Supreme Executive Committee). The SEC will request a recommendation from the member's Chapter prior to acting.
The SEC must solicit the Chapter's recommendation before granting reinstatement of a resigned or expelled member. KSTUAA will assist in secure a recommendation from the Chapter for any sincere interested party. Former Members are typically asked to pay the $150 initiation fee in the process to cover administrative costs and a donation to the Endowment Fund is in good measure.
